This is AWESOME Mila! I am picturing you over in Spain wearing your adidas and holding your poetry book while I’m over here in Virginia doing the same! We are multi-faceted! And thank you for the encouragement on the TL front, it keeps me going in a thousand ways. ❤️

First off, great column, love the shoes, Stan Smiths were my favorites growing up!

Second, for Connor...poetry is an acquired taste but some "toe-dipping" that helped me ease into reading more of it was a gift from the parents of a buddy of mine in high school....I don't know what they saw in me but for some reason knew that I would love "The Prophet" by Kahil Gibran....I have it's worn pages with me still to this day; over 40 years later. Another favorite was one I picked up while sitting in my divorce therapist's waiting room, Collections of Rumi....some of these poems, when I read them I felt as if my soul was taking flight!! Such beautiful words, woven together in the most lyrical way. Another book, that's like training wheels for the uninitiated and just all around great book is Peace Is Every Step, by Thich Nhat Hahn....another one I can thank my therapist for; because as I've mentioned here before, what I learned from the counseling I received in therapy that although divorce is not the same as when your spouse dies, the sudden severing of that bond when you are the "dumped" may be no less traumatic and jarring. It takes a very long time to get past and although the wounds may heal, the scars will remain. Poetry is a salve for the soul and helps the healing. Thank you, Sue... Love TL!!

Keith, love these suggestions, thank you! And I absolutely feel there is no hierarchy to suffering, and yours has taught you just as much as mine. And made us both stronger. Thanks for chiming in!

As freak as I might seem, liking and reading poetry and loving and wearing addidas for my whole life, I love and I am thankful for TL every week. This one especially heart touching for me. Thanks, Sue.
