That was a fun post… for me your post tend to illicit emotions… I could feel my face smiling on some of your very well written descriptions… and then I thought... what do I use as a reset button? A lot of times when I drive around the highway I do my best meditation… I guess being in my drivers seat is my reset button...

I know the feeling of running out of ideas. Not fun!

Do you keep a running list of topics? This list has saved me on more than one occasion.

Chris, we think alike! And I have sort-of a running list, but they are more like sticky notes lying all over my house. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront of my brain, I think I’ll get more methodical about it so as to save some moments of panic! ❤️

Thanks for writing this beautiful piece. I was "blocked" for the last 18 months as a writer. I often thought; "I will never write again". "I am out of ink". Though the help of a friend and my own realization; that what I was most afraid of was not failure; but success. Somehow I thought that I did not deserve to be a successful writer. Well ; I am back and writing my biography and writing a new series of poetry called "Winter Musings". Best to you over the holidays.

Sue, loved your excursion on the holiday morning to view one of your favorite artists at a local museum! No traffic, less crowds, a full vacation in a mornings time! I don’t remember all u said, but I think u described seeing the artist in a new light!!! Glad u r able to dive into book reading, I miss reading at least a few books a year!!! I try to find a balance, be busy around the house and with life, but take the time to read and go over what is happening around us through the pages of a book!

Great point as usual Maddie - - we are humans, not automatons. Seasonality is what makes us stronger - periods of productivity, periods of rest - but somehow I like to worship consistency instead which sub-optimizes most things. Dang.

I felt every word of this! Lately I’ve been wondering what role seasonality plays here; as we get deeper into winter, the more I want to go into some kind of creative hibernation.

But, inevitably, I know that spring will arrive, and along with it newfound motivation. (At least that’s what I keep telling myself!)
